Toronto, Canada – GAO Fiber Optics (www.GAOFiberOptics.com) is offering its 1000 BASE CWDM SFP Cisco compatible transceiver. The multi-rate transceiver supports both Gigabit Ethernet 1.25 Gbps full-duplex links with an optical link budget of 29 dB and fiber Channel 1.06 Gbps and 2.12 Gbps full-duplex links with an optical link budget of 28 dB. The hot-pluggable transceiver plugs into an SFP port or slot of a Cisco switch or router to link the port with the fiber optic network.

This transceiver operates at the wavelength of 1270 nm. It has both a transmitter and a receiver which is combined through circuitry and share a single housing. It use an SFP interface to connect the equipment and dual LC/PC fiber connector interface to connect the optical network. The CWDM SFP module is fully compatible with IEEE 802.3z for 1000Base-X standards and Fiber Channel Draft Physical Interface Specification. It is also compliant with the ITU-T G.694.2 CWDM grid. Moreover, it accepts a variety of Cisco switches, routers and optical transport devices.
This CWDM SFP Cisco compatible transceiver belongs to GAO’s family of Compatible Optical Transceivers. The line family of optical transceivers contains CWDMs GBICs, SFPs, Xenpaks, and XFPs providing compatible solutions at a lower cost.
