106 St. Tire & Wheel, NYC’s Premier Tire Dealer has announced that it, along with its off-shoot, Corona Commerce Cares, a beautification project just getting underway in Queens, will be picking up pianos from around the NYC area.

In conjunction with a piano tuner working pro bono along side 106 St. Tire and Wheel, in an effort to give under privileged inner city youth as well as adults pianos, 106 St. will be dispatching their company truck to retrieve unwanted pianos.

A 106 St. spokesman stated, “It’s our hope that all those posters on Craig’s List and others who have an unwanted piano will contact us at 347-226-4692. We’re also hoping that churches, organizations dedicated to the arts, youth centers, elementary schools, colleges, social clubs and more will help us pass the word along. It’s important that we all remember to give back to our community and what’s really exciting is that perhaps a child with a musical future will have a tool essential in developing their gift because we acted as a community.”

The pianos will be stored at 106 St Tire & Wheels Jamaica location at 118-02 Merrick Blvd where they will be tuned and prepared for their eventual owner. The pianos will then be delivered by 106 St’s 26 ft. truck with hydraulic lift.
