FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) January 9, 2010 --
On the snowy night of January 7th, 2010, the campaign office of Joseph W. Sneed - a resident of the Illinois 10th Representative District and Candidate for the 10th District State Representative position - was burglarized. Would be burglar(s) smashed the window of the front door of the campaign office and stole various campaign materials including two (2) laptops, office phones, confidential campaign files, printers, and other campaign material such as billboards, window signs, and three (3) boxes of leaflets. The intruders passed up an array of other expensive high-tech campaign equipment in order to target confidential campaign files. Damages to the office included a broken door and ransacked files.
“This is a sign of the times; whether economical or political” Sneed said. “Despite the weather over the past two days, our campaign workers have been in the field throughout the 10th district getting our message out and creating a high level of visibility. I will not let petty political thievery stand in the way of my intent to serve the people. Although they may steal our files and create extra work within my campaign, I will continue to reach out to the voters in the 10th District and campaign even harder.”
Sneed and his family are lifelong residents of the 10th District. He graduated from St. Malachy Grammar School, Gordon Technical High School, and attended Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa. Growing up, Sneed learned the importance of hard work by working at his mother’s restaurant, Ann’s Restaurant - which was located at Western Avenue & Lake Street - while laboring for his father’s construction company. Sneed's interests in real estate and business development were groomed during these early years. As a Real Estate Broker and Appraiser, Sneed established his own realty firm - The Sneed Group - and is also a member of the Chicago Association of Realtors. In addition, Sneed has 13 years of experience in government as a Supervisor of Investigations in the City of Chicago’s Department of Business Affairs & Licensing and Consumer Protection – in which he was innovative in helping to create new revenue streams.
