In 2009 over $18 billion in taxpayer money was spent on marijuana prohibition. That $18 billion arrested, prosecuted, and punished 1% of the marijuana users in this country.

Those funds arrested, prosecuted, and punished 1% of the estimated users of the drug. This report shows the breakdown of the expenses by state and type and hypothesizes what marijuana could be doing for our economy instead of us fighting against it.
