2009 DRIVE-IN Film Festival is Back for a Second Season

Many don’t even realize that there are still many active drive-ins all around the country. This view is something the DRIVE-IN Film Festival is on a mission to change.

The DRIVE-IN Film Festival, which was founded by filmmaker C.C. Webster, will be having their main event at the DELSEA DRIVE-IN in Vineland, NJ. Growing up in small town America, with two drive-in theaters within a mile of her house, C.C. has never forgotten the experiences and inspiration of those summer nights watching movies under the stars.

The DRIVE-IN Film Festival’s main event will take place on Saturday, September 19, 2009. The festival is highlighting two independent films, GIGANTIC starring Zoey Deschanel, Paul Dano, and John Goodman, and PAPER HEART starring Michael Cera, Charlyne Yi, and Seth Rogen.

One goal of the DRIVE-IN Film Festival is to help independent filmmakers reach a broad audience, including the smaller towns across America. Another, more prominent goal is to keep the drive-in tradition alive. As more and more drive-in theaters close every year, the festival aims to bring back the excitement and family fun of the drive-in experience.
