(Free-Press-Release.com) August 27, 2009 -- 2009 International Photography Awards Announces Winners of the Competition

Tomohide Ikeya was awarded in the International Photography Awards Competition. International Photography Awards (IPA) has announced the winners of 2009's competition.
Tomohide Ikeya was Awarded: 1st place in People - Other category & 2nd place in Special - Moving Images category for the winning entry "BREATH." AND 2nd place in Advertising - Catalogue category for the winning entry "Nude Jewelry."

ABOUT Winner:

I am currently working as a freelance photographer in Japan, dealing with clients like a editorial and advertising works, I am making my own art works. These were widely acclaimed. One of my works "WAVE" was awarded 1st place in the category "Advertising (self promotion) of International Photography Award 2007. And "WAVE" and "BREATH" (sequel to "WAVE") were given honorable mentions in "Water" competition of Prix de la Photographie Paris 2008. My works were featured in magazines that included a famous photography magazine "DC PHOTO" in Hong Kong. In July 2008, my first one-man exhibition was held at epSITE which was an art gallery sponsored by EPSON. In Feb. 2009, a group exhibition was held at SEIBU Shibuya which was a big-name department store in Japan. I joined that as one of the six up-and-coming photographers in Japan.

The 2009 International Photography Awards received nearly 18,000 submissions from 104 countries across the globe. IPA is a sister-effort of the Lucie Foundation, where the top three winners are announced at the annual Lucie Awards gala ceremony.
