2010 Season of Free Summer Concerts in New York City

April 3, 2010

Free service, now in its fifth year, offers New Yorkers email notification of all the free concerts happening in the city for summer 2010.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) April 3, 2010 -- New York--When Walt Goodridge was a frustrated civil engineer working in the World Trade Center many years ago, he would gaze longingly out the window from his 73rd floor cubicle and wish that he had the personal freedom to see movies in the middle of the day, or enjoy all the free lunchtime, daytime and evening concerts New York City was famous for.

Like many people, however, he often heard about his favorite artists' performance at Summerstage, or Bryant Park or Wingate Field, AFTER the fact, from friends, co-workers or strangers who "...had a wonderful time!"
So, he created and launched FreeSummerConcerts.com as a way to keep track of all the concerts he was missing and hearing about after the fact.
"I knew I couldn't be the only person who was experiencing this," Goodridge says. "Once I launched the site, it really took off and people basically wondered how they ever lived without a service like this!"

His innovative site compiles all the events from a full range of sites, individuals, promoters, and other sources, and sends a twice-weekly email of upcoming free events to it's now almost 10,000 subscribers. Now in its fifth year, it seems to have hit critical mass, and, according to Goodridge, "we have 14 times as many visitors already this month (March 2010) as we did for the same period last year!"
Even though Goodridge is no longer a New York resident (he escaped the rat race to live his "nomadpreneur" dream life), his legacy is the valuable service he left behind for all New Yorkers still seeking escape and entertainment that fits within a budget.
To sign up, visit www.FreeSummerConcerts.com, where you'll find links to Goodridge's nomadpreneur adventures!
