CAMERON COUNTY, Texas — Tonight, Democrat candidates for congress will have campaign events across our district to watch and applaud President Barack Obama’s State of the Union Address. It is expected Obama will criticize Republicans and conservatives for their failed leadership.
Congressional candidate Jessica Puente Bradshaw of Brownsville, Texas reminds our district of the failed leadership of Obama and the out of control spending by congress.
Among a group of Cameron County supporters, Puente Bradshaw stated today, “It’s been 1,000 days since the Obama Democrats last passed a budget in the U.S. Senate. The Obama Democrats have blocked nearly 30 House-Passed jobs bills. Congressmen sympathetic to Obama’s spending policies will gather tonight to support Obama’s solution of making the economy worse through more spending on top of the already failed stimulus bill, higher taxes, fewer jobs.”
With her usual down to earth logic, Puente Bradshaw emphasized, “You and I live on a family budget. You and I could not continue to pass the buck with stop gap measures hoping magic money will pay for our bills. You and I cannot just keep spending and wait for our children to grow up and then pay off our debts. It is not the way we do things in Texas and at home. Unfortunately, that is how it is done in Washington. America cannot continue accept this foolish behavior from Washington insiders and Obama policy spenders.”
The Republican candidate for congress urged the United States Senate to pass a budget.
Puente Bradshaw concluded, “Washington is broken. Washington needs real common sense from everyday citizens like you and me. I will take the fight for fiscally conservative values to Washington. I will join fellow fiscal conservatives in passing a strategic federal budget to foster an environment conducive for job growth throughout Texas and the country.
Please join me in telling the Senate to do it’s job and pass a budget. This leadership needs to hear from us, we are the ones paying for everything that goes on in D.C.”
Jessica Puente Bradshaw is from Brownsville, Texas. She is seeking the Republican nomination for the open congressional district 34 in Texas. She is a real estate professional, wife, and mother of two.
