2nd Session of Maybank-MoneyTree Idea eXchange (MIX) (Season 2) – Grand Finale

(Free-Press-Release.com) November 15, 2011 -- 10th November 2011, Selangor - MoneyTree, in collaboration with Sunway University’s Business Investment Society (Sunway-BIS) recently organized the 2nd session of the Maybank – MoneyTree Idea Exchange (MIX) (Season 2) event at Sunway University.

The event was attended by the Vice Chancellor of Sunway University, Professor Dr Robert Bignail, Head of the Sunway Business School, Dr Foo Yin Fah, representatives from Maybank, and corporate guests of MoneyTree.

This session of the Maybank MIX event saw 22 teams, each consisting 3 – 4 members battling it out against each other for the RM 2,000 cash prize.

The teams were required to propose and develop plans / campaigns / initiatives for an effective early acquisition and nurturing strategy for the Youth Market (i.e. Children, Teenagers, and Tertiary Level students) to encourage brand loyalty towards Maybank.

The teams were tasked to write a 2-page Executive Summary, and viral a 90-second Video of their teams on Facebook and YouTube. Out of the 22 teams that submitted their business ideas, 8 teams were shortlisted to pitch their ideas in 3.5 minutes to a panel of judges comprising Industry experts, representatives from Maybank, and the CEO of MoneyTree Asia Pacific, Mr Michael Reyes. This is then followed by a 10-minute Q&A session where the judges would scrutinize their ideas, and the teams were required to defend the viability of their ideas.

After much ‘brutal drilling’ and sharp comments from judges comprising of industry experts, Team “Lotus” outwitted 21 other teams with their outstanding business idea and walked away with the Grand Prize of RM 2,000 in the latest session of the Maybank-MoneyTree Idea eXchange (MIX).

Other prizes given out include Best Video Award of RM 500 that went to Team “GO4” and Most Popular Team Award of RM 200 won by Team “Investisseurs”. The Most Popular team was voted by the members of the audience.

Besides that, there were also Lucky Draw prizes given out to the audience throughout the MIX event.

MIX is a platform created for youths to showcase their abilities and talents to help organizations solve real business problems by pitching their business ideas and solutions to potential employers and for employers to identify Top Talents within Universities / Colleges.
