"365 Days of Making Clay Cups" - Ceramic Artist's Journey Comes to End

(Free-Press-Release.com) December 27, 2011 -- MODESTO, CA (December 27, 2011) - Ceramic novice and YouTube personality, Tammy Jo Schoppet will be ending her daily video series “365 Days of Clay Cups” by throwing her last and final cup on December 31, 2011.

“I think the project shows gradual change from being a novice to being proficient. It shares the trials and errors as they happened throughout the years growth.” says Schoppet, “Taking the little cracks of time to hone skills along with the daily encouragement of others; is probably like watching an ugly duckling turn into a swan!”

Before the project began, Tammy Jo was a closet ceramic enthusiast who had been encouraged for health reasons to find a relaxing hobby. “It had to be clay!” she says. Without available traditional learning resources that fit within her busy schedule, she had to choose alternative methods of learning such as DVD’s, books and online videos. This just wasn’t enough; she needed professional critiques to correctly learn proper skills of the craft. On January 1, 2011 she set out to throw “365 Days of Clay Cups” and share her journey online through daily cup throwing videos with the hope that experienced potters might help.

“It's been an honor that potters from all over the world have graciously taken their time to coach and encourage me throughout this whole process.” says Schoppet, “With their inspiration it has really given me a beautiful beginning to my life's journey as a ceramic artist!”
