4 tips that will help anyone drive traffic to their website

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) November 29, 2009 -- Whether you are blogging for profit or hobby, you will need to know a few things about driving traffic to your site. The art of getting people to visit your website can be frustrating for some, and absolutely addictive and fun for others. For myself, I love finding new ways to drive traffic to my site. The challenge is both addictive and ultimately rewarding. For the purposes of this article I have compiled a 4 step list that will help you get the most out of your blogging experience.

Step 1

The first, and crucial issue to be addressed is choosing content. Remember, content is paramount. You need to have a passion for what you write. Trust me, your readers will know if the passion is there.

Step 2

Once you have decided on your content you will need to populate your site with some level of consistency. If this is a hobby for you then 2-3 blog postings a day would be a great start. For those more serious about blogging, a minimum of four postings a day is acceptable.

Step 3

Be interactive with your audience when they leave comments. Communicate with them and keep the dialogue going. Let them know you are a real person. Furthermore, it would be a good idea to reach out to other bloggers. This will serve you in more than one way. First, you will get some great ideas from those who have succeeded in what you are trying to accomplish. Second, you may be asked to be a guest blogger on their site. Other bloggers may also wish to link to your site. This tip has many benefits if you play it right.

Step 4

If you are not on Twitter I would suggest that you do so quickly. I have heard a lot of people knock Twitter because the interface is too plain and boring. A simple solution to this is to download Tweetdeck or Twirl. I personally use Tweetdeck and I must say, it is awesome. You need to build a large following & follower base with twitter. The last time I looked I had 500 people that I was following and 291 that were following me. Every time I post a new blog or update a blog, a message with my URL goes out to everyone of those people. The same goes for facebook, myspace, ect. Also, it goes without saying that you need to setup your RSS feed. Check out www.feedburner.com for more info RSS.

As you can see there are quite a few ways you can gather a following with absolutely no cost to you. The old real estate saying goes, location, location, location. In our business the saying is content, content, content! You can be the best at getting people to your site but it will mean nothing if your content does not catch their eye and keep them coming back for more.

Happy Blogging,
