Toronto, Canada –GAO RFID Asset Tracking (www.GAORFIDAssetTracking.com) has launched this 433 MHz active key fob RFID tag which is an ideal solution for safety applications in dangerous industrial and construction environments like mining where it can be used both as a tracking device and as a distress-signalling device in case of emergency situations. It is specially designed for the purpose of personnel tracking, vehicle tracking or driver identification as well in applications where keys need to be tracked such as in prisons, hospitals and government offices. It belongs to GAO’s 433 MHz Active RFID Tags family of products.

This active key fob RFID tag, model 124014, boasts low power consumption, configurable settings for site /vendor ID, tag ID and transmission repetition interval and randomized time-slots to minimize collisions. It transmits tag data including Customer Site Code (CSC), tag ID, tag age counter value and button alarm status. It can also operate in silent mode with transmissions only occurring upon the press of the button. This compact RFID tag is powered by an internal lithium battery and has an estimated life span of more than four years at a transmission time interval of approximately 1.5 seconds. Moreover, it is encapsulated within a molded plastic case, which is ultrasonically sealed protecting it against adverse environmental conditions.
