October 5, 2011- In lieu to violation issue either on immigration Canada, US and other countries, deportation remains an excellent means to promulgate punishment. However, in case of third world countries as the Philippines, the question whether the deportation punishment has been effective or not remains a simple controversy that still needs to be addressed.
Recently, Bureau of immigration lawyer or BI has reported to have deported 67 Chinese nationals. A lot of Filipinos were surprised about this news as Chinese people are common to encounter in the country. In fact, among the huge population of investors and business minded people living in the Philippines are Chinese coming from countries like Taiwan, and China. The news was so saddening, but it enraged Filipinos to know that their country has been used as cradle for all anomalous acts of these 67 suspects.
The BI suspected the 67 Chinese nationals to be members of an international syndicate engaged in telecommunication, internet scams, and credit card frauds. Take note, “international” syndicate. This just means that this issue isn’t just about immigration Philippines or an issue which concerns the Philippines alone, but rather concerns all nations worldwide including immigration Canada , US and the rest.
Chinese suspects were found out to be faking their immigration documents. This calls so much attention from immigration security in the Philippines. Actually, this isn’t just a Philippines issue, but as well as a great concern for immigration Canada, US and many more. Considering that these 67 Chinese were able to pass the screening and yet carrying fake documents just proves that the immigration security of the country may have failed in the implementation of immigration laws and regulations.
Currently, the Philippines BI is still on the process of locating several more people violating the immigration laws. This time, head of immigration offices claimed to take changes for the improvement of immigration consultant services including providing training and seminars to their personnel.
