7 Marketing begins 2012 with pilots and promotions

The Philadelphia office hosted several top managers and consultants in January when it began piloting a new marketing campaign for Waste Industries. Visitors from New York and New Jersey offices were in town to help launch the program, as well as provide guidance to corporate trainers transitioning from other campaigns. Assistant manager, Xavier Otero says, “We’re always visiting those guys in New York and New Jersey so it was fun to have them visit us this month.”

In addition to adding a new client, the firm also had its most profitable week in six months in January. “It was a great accomplishment. It sets the bar high for the rest of the year,” says corporate trainer, Jim Moran. The management team explained that the success was due in part to two consecutive business trips to the firm’s Cincinnati office.

Promotions and Recognition

In addition to promoting two account executives to corporate trainers this month, the firm also promoted Jim Moran to Senior Corporate Trainer. The promotion marks the halfway point to assistant management for Moran. “I’m excited for this promotion, but for me, it’s just the first step in achieving my goals,” he says. “I’m going to keep working hard for my team because if it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t be where I am.”

Each week 7 Marketing recognizes individuals who exemplify outstanding leadership and field performance. Corporate trainers vote for a “Leader of the Week,” and the winner gets an opportunity to run a morning meeting for the entire office. January’s winners were Jim Moran, Andrew Lerner, Joe Sperlak, and MD Rahman. The management team then selects one winner as the “Leader of the Month.” Jim Moran was awarded that honor. Newly promoted corporate trainer, Patricia Andrews, was recognized as the month’s top-performing new hire.
