A blog about being an active disabled mom

Corvallis, Oregon, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) February 23, 2012 -- I am a 37 year old married mother of two. I was diagnosed with a degenerative neurological disorder in January of 1992.. As my condition got worse, I had no where to turn for advice. I was on my own. So, recently I decided to create a website where people go to chat, get tips, write tips about their own experiences, and read reviews of disability related products in hopes of seeing what is out the to help my life be more like others.

My supportive husband and wonderful daughters are able-bodied and deserve to do all of the fun things that “normal” families do. I have been full time in a wheelchair since I got pregnant with my first daughter in 2002. I need help transferring and can no longer drive. This impacts what my family gets to do. I am hoping to change that for them and all other disabled people who consider themselves “active”.

So, on ActivelyDisabled.com, I welcome any/all posts, questions, comments. I want people to have somewhere to go and hopefully read interesting info and help the awareness and compassion level.
