A survey of 200 Mexico dentists by the Board Certified Mexico Dentists Association in November of 2011 showed that across Mexico in middle-class to upscale areas; dental clinics equal to in quality to ones Americans were familiar with back home, charged $450 - $650us for root canals and implants.

These prices were regardless of whether the dentist in Mexico was a general dentist or highly trained implant dentist with up to 8 years of dental education vs. the 4 years of the general dentist. These costs pale when compared to prices of $800 – $3,000us for the same procedures in the USA. And dental implants in Mexico cost about the same whether from less trained general dentists or certified specialist Mexico dentists who are formally trained in oral surgery, periodontics and more. The Mexico dentist association survey concluded that the dental tourist is way ahead by going with experts for specialized cosmetic dentistry, crowns, veneers, cosmetic dental makeovers and dental implants in Mexico as the board certified specialist will get it right the first time rather than learning as they go by practicing on their patients.

Board Certified Mexico Dentist Association spokesman Dr. Julio Chavel in announcing the launch of a public awareness campaign that promotes board certified dentists in Mexico noted that since board certified Mexico dental specialists cost the same as general dentists in Mexico for the same procedures – the common sense question arises -Why would anyone let someone who is less-qualified, do their serious dentistry such as cosmetic dentistry or dental implants in Mexico?
