Just like the main character, Publisher Rochelle O’Neal Thorpe was introduced to Chinese culture by her best friend (Brighton High School). She always wanted to learn how to speak her friend’s language. As a result she took up Chinese studies in 1980 at the University of Massachusetts East Asian Studies Department on the Amherst Campus.

Thirty-year later Rochelle has published a suite of books in dual language text to share her experiences discovering Asian Culture. A Dragon Valentine is her fifth book to be available in Mandarin Chinese; she has books available in Japanese as well.


Translator of A Dragon Valentine is Jing Wang a Chinese young woman from Chengdu City, who loves playing piano and traveling. Has the dream of pursuing the field of mass communications, and right now works in New York City as a financial reporter.

Rochelle met the Jing Wang while taping an interviewing for her book The Tales of Teacups at the NBC Affiliate WHDH TV Channel 7 Boston. Jing Wang was an Intern working for producer Brian Clark, and the two ladies struck up a discussion about attending Emerson College, where they both have obtained Masters of Arts Degrees.

Jing Wang has delivered translations for Gabe and the Park & His Big Toy Box, and A Dragon Valentine. She also prepared voice-overs for the Mandarin edition of The Tales of Teacups with hopes that they would be added to the StoryChimes iTunes App, but the Sienna Entertainment team canceled the production of language editions for Wiggles Press Books.

The iTunes production is presently being produced and target to be released in March 2012 with the help of the team at YUDU an international producer of iTunes.for the Apple online bookstore.

The English edition is available on Amazon.com and the dual language can be read in Kindle at Amazon until the new audio edition is launched in March 2012 with multimedia capabilities.
