FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Kingston, Massachusetts, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) October 27, 2011 -- KINGSTON, MA…

When it comes to donating to charitable causes like the South Shore Boys & Girls Club and the Bridge Center, PR Works Owner Steve Dubin has always put his money where his mouth is. In helping to raise funds for prostate cancer research, he’s willing to donate his upper lip as he and PR Works Account Manager Joe D’Eramo grow mustaches during the month of Movember (formerly referred to as November). PR Works is also encouraging clients and friends to get rid of the razor for the month and join the cause.

Movember is an international fundraiser sponsored by the Prostate Cancer Foundation and Livestrong. During the entire month of November participants grow mustaches during the entire month as a rallying point for raising funds and awareness for prostate cancer health and other men’s cancer-related issues.

“Breast cancer awareness month receives a lot of attention nationwide and deservedly so. But men’s issues, like prostate cancer, tend to fly under the radar,” said Dubin. “By taking part in this mustache-growing effort, we’re trying to raise awareness and funds for equally important cancer research and have some fun to boot.”

According to the Movember website:
One in six men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.
A man is diagnosed with prostate cancer every 2.2 minutes.

One in two men will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
24 percent of men are less likely to go the doctor compared to women.
“I actually shaved off my goatee so I could participate in this fundraiser, which my wife was not happy about” added D’Eramo, a Plymouth resident. “My Dad is a prostate cancer survivor and I felt it a worthy sacrifice for a great cause. Now, if I lose the little wager I have with Steve about raising the most funds, I might have to keep my ‘stache for an extra month.”

Each participant must start clean-shaven on November 1. Donors and fellow Mo Bros can follow the progress of each participant’s mustache and fundraising on a Mo Page. Participants are encouraged to be creative with their mustaches in order to promote donations.

“I’m not sure what Joe has in mind, but I’m going with the Fu Manchu,” said Dubin. “We will be posting both our faces on PR Works’ blog and Facebook page so people can check us out. We’ve also put out a notice to our clients and networking groups to see if they want to join us. There’s always room for one Mo.”
