The blog's author, Arnold G. Regardie, is a retired attorney who practiced law in California for over 40 years. He has distilled the essence of his effective writing skills, developed from many years of writing legal documents, into what will be a series of blogs to be published at least once a week. Regardie is a former federal prosecutor and a past president of the Federal Bar Association, Los Angeles Chapter. He obtained his Juris Doctor degree from U.C. Hastings College of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Blogs previously posted have included such topics as why clear writing is an art form (it's an acquired skill), use of positive thinking to overcome self doubts about writing, the meaning of clear writing, use of word association to avoid memorization of grammar rules, why finding and using the right word is pivotal, and developing a preliminary plan before writing.
