A NEW CAREER FOR THE NEW YEAR! FORTIS COLLEGE TO HOST JANUARY 5 OPEN HOUSE

(Free-Press-Release.com) December 24, 2010 -- MOBILE, Ala. – (December 23, 2010) – A new career for the New Year! Major job growth in cosmetology is spurring interest among people looking for innovative careers in 2011. To satisfy this need, Fortis College, a leading post-secondary education institution in Mobile, offers diploma programs for Cosmetology, Massage Therapy, Barbering, Nail Technology, and Cosmetology Education (more commonly referred to as Cosmetologist Instructor Training).

To learn more about the various training programs, Fortis invites the public to attend an Open House on Wednesday, January 5, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Open House will include campus tours, door prizes, giveaways, and the ability to enroll on the spot for desired programs. Free haircuts will be available in the student barber shop and cosmetology salon, free chair massages at the massage clinic, and military discounts will be provided with valid ID for all other spa services.
Instructors from every specialty, along with students currently enrolled in courses, will be available in each classroom to discuss the programs.

The campus is located at 300-F Azalea Road, Mobile.

“We’ve nearly doubled our size in the past year and are excited to show the community our two new 10-bed massage clinics, fully-developed barber shop, Learning Resource Center and classrooms,” said Executive Director Allison Schmaeling. “Our training focuses on both theory and practical education so it’s important for our students to get hands-on training at the campus.”

A diploma in Cosmetology and Barbering can be completed in 50 weeks. A diploma in Massage Therapy can be completed in 36 weeks. A diploma in Nail Technology can be completed in 25 weeks and Cosmetology Education in 30 weeks. Enrollment is taking place now for new classes in these programs beginning January 10. Additional classes are scheduled to start regularly throughout the year.

The student-run massage clinics, cosmetology salon and nail salon are open six days a week. The barber shop is open five days a week. Services are offered to the public at significantly reduced rates.
