A semi truck lost control and crashed an ambulance and a jack knife across the highway I-75.

Perrysburg, Ohio, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) January 24, 2012 -- Five people were rushed to the hospital after a serious accident along I-75 .The call came in as a one-car crash, but, as crews were responding, more cars got involved.

An SUV heading north on I-75 lost control under the Alexis overpass and slammed into the median. The impact caused the car to catch on fire.

The driver was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. But, before that driver could be transported, several more people were hurt.

As emergency crews arrived on the scene of the accident, a semi truck lost control, rear ended an ambulance and jack-knifed across the highway.

The driver of the semi and two firefighters in the ambulance were injured.

A Washington Township police officer was also injured. Police say he slipped on ice and was taken to the hospital for an ankle injury.

The crash sent five people to Mercy Saint V's. Police say none of the injuries were life-threatening.

The jack-knifed semi blocked all lanes of I-75 for a few hours Saturday morning before crews could get everything cleaned up.
