A Smile and Second Chance for Kristen

United States of America -- Free-Press-Release.com-- Feb 12, 2011 -- "Dear Dr. Kozy, Could you please help Kristen" began the letter from Sister Anne Mary Molyet of Sisters of Notre Dame to Paul S. Kozy, D.D.S. Sister Anne Marie director of "Help for Victims of Domestic Violence", had been working with Kristen who had her front tooth knocked out by her former husband. Sister Anne Mary had helped Kristen work through an array of personal problems. Now Kristen had a job interview in 2 weeks. Sister felt Kristen would interview better with a new front tooth in place.
Dr. Kozy, a Toledo reconstructive implant dentist, after reading her letter phoned Sister Anne Mary and agreed to help. Kristen was seen by Dr. Kozy and she had a 3-D dental scan done for her missing tooth area. The scan showed there was still plenty of bone that could support a dental implant and new tooth.
Kristen returned in 2 weeks for what Dr. Kozy thought was more treatment planning. Sister Anne and Kristen thought Kristen was getting her implant and tooth at THAT appointment. They both had arranged their time and schedule expecting to receive the implant at that time. Hesitating slightly, Dr. Kozy said "Let's do it". Fortunately, the office had everything that was needed ready to go. With a small adjustment of schedule and working through lunch, Dr. Kozy and his implant team successfully placed Kristen's implant and new tooth. Dr. Kozy, a video enthusiast, filmed the procedure.
After the 2 hour procedure, Dr. Kozy and his team allowed Sister to come into the operatory for the big "Reveal".
Like on Televisions "Extreme Makeovers" Dr. Kozy's assistants held a curtain between Sister and Kristen. At the count of "Three" the curtain came down and Sister saw Kristen beaming with her new front tooth. Many hugs and tears later Kristen was ready for her job interview.
