FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) December 4, 2009 --
In February 2009 principal photography wrapped on A TIGER in the DARK: The Drew Evans Story. The film starred Joe Muanfo, Ashleigh Taylor, Nicole Trychon, Susan Heiss and Shelly Whittle. Beginning January 1st 2010 Drew Evans Project, LLC and A TIGER in the DARK Productions will begin pre-production on the next installment of the series titled DOOMSDAY. Unlike the first film DOOMSDAY will reveal a frightening series of events that will inevitably turn the main character Drew into a former shadow of himself bent on revenge. It is rumored that Drew Evans himself may actually be portraying the role of Virus D in the movie; however as of yet nothing has been confirmed. The producers say that Virus D has for a long time been a vision of the filmmakers yet up until now it has been difficult to establish the character in the film. The producers say that they are being very cautious as to not turn the series into a horror film but do admit that at this point in the story Drew (played by Joe Munafo) is beginning to succumb to the darkness in his heart. They admit that Virus D will seem like a fantasy character yet Drew Evans, writer and producer of the film does remind his viewers that Virus D was indeed a burden weighing heavily on his soul that manifested as an apparition and consumed his consciousness while enduring the struggle that is life.
The producers announce that the original cast will reprise their roles though this film is no longer about a struggle to break away from old habits and accept change. Yet, rather is about learning the true meaning of life. As the story conveys it is the choices we make that will determine who we become. Drew Evans has been quoted as saying that he wanted to tell his story to expose the dark side of Hollywood and that the industry is not always "glitter and gold." He says that Hollywood demands a certain type of lifestyle and can at times be a lonely road. He says that the people in the industry allow very little room for error and often times tend to portray themselves as perfection. "No one is perfect." Mr. Evans says. "I am human though at times felt as if I wasn't." As Drew Evans reveals in his films he didn't always make the right choices but in the end overcame all obstacles; something very few people ever accomplish.
A TIGER in the DARK: DOOMSDAY is a revealing look at one man's dream to become what no one thought he could. Yet, if asked would he do it all over again Drew Evans admits - yes. Though his life may have not been perfect he says that his struggle and heartache has taught him more than any school ever could. He says that he has become a better person and hopes to be able to continue to inspire those like him who dream of bigger and better things. He explains that when he first approached Mr. Munafo about portraying a living person, himself Mr. Muanfo seemed to be overwhelmed by the opportunity. Today Mr. Munafo is excited about the upcoming film and hopeful for the future. The reamining cast members including some new faces as well are anticipating the re-start of filming.
The film is expected to wrap by June 2010 and released to the public by Christmas 2010. To learn more about the film visit www.consumedbydarkness.net.
