AAGEN SIGNS MOU WITH DOE AND FAPAC TO CELEBRATE AAPI HERITAGE MONTH

AAGEN celebrates AAPI Heritage Month by signing MOU with DOE and FAPAC to serve America with diversity, leadership, empowerment, and beyond. The Celebration is to take place on May 24, at DOE.

D.C., Washington, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) May 24, 2011 -- Washington, D.C.: On Tuesday May 24, 2011, the Asian American Government Executives Network (AAGEN) celebrates Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month by signing a joint Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Energy (DOE) and the Federal Asian Pacific American Council (FAPAC) to serve America with diversity, leadership, empowerment, and beyond. The Celebration is to take place at 02:00 pm, at the Forrestal Small Auditorium, Department of Energy, 1000 Independence Ave. SW, Washington D.C. 20585.

Distinguished speakers are An-Ming “Tommy” Hwang, Chair of the Asian American Government Executives Network, Dr. Kin Wong, President of the Federal Asian Pacific American Council, Alka Dhillon, Chief Executive Officer of Technalink, Jeffrey Divney, Vice President and Associate General Counsel of Lockheed Martin Corporation, and Tien Wong, Chairman & CEO of Lore System, Inc. Closing Remarks will be delivered by Thomas H. Phan, Champion, DOE, AAPI Initiative, Office of Science. Thomas Phan is also the Executive Director of AAGEN.

Responding to the Executive Order signed by President Obama to designate May as Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders Heritage Month, AAGEN takes pride in collaborating with the Federal Asian Pacific American Council and the Department of Energy in the mission set forth by the Memorandum of Understanding. May 24, 2011 will mark the date that the first agency MOU being signed jointly by AAGEN and FAPAC to promote AAPI Community in serving the nation with the Department of Energy.

AAGEN appreciates the opportunity to serve with distinctive leadership, and proudly invites all to celebrate this event as a mark to honor Asian American Pacific Heritage Month.
