London rapper ABIADE (pronounced AH-BEE-AH-DAY)
releases debut album "The Industry & Me" on the 27th
of September 2011.
ABIADE, who has performed alongside the likes of Bruno Mars, Jamie XX, Mike Posner
and Akala, is set to reignite the UK rap scene with an effort that is both eclectic and
genre redefining.
"The Industry & Me" (TIAM) consists of fourteen original songs that
incorporate elements of various genres from Big Band to Grime. Each song individually

provides a combination of intelligent lyricism, driven social commentary and dope
instrumentation that coalesce perfectly into an album that is as introspective as it is
unapologetic.

The album, recorded a stone’s throw from BRITS School in NLT studios in Croydon,
boasts production credits from Mr. Mitch (Skepta, Roll Deep) – and Zaheer, (Mike
GLC, Sam Khan) among others. Collaborating are titans of the UK underground scene

including appearances from Mr. ShaoDow on the electric-paced “Deal With
the Matter” and freestyle king LeeN on the Finale track, soulful chant "Show
You How".
The theme of the album underlies the frustration ABIADE feels about an industry that
has lost its romance and much of its authenticity in the desperate search for the next
chart topping success. TIAM represents ABIADE’s effort to address these shortcomings
by delivering an album that is witty and insightful yet commercially aware proving that
lyrical proficiency need not be a barrier to a radio friendly record.

Drawing upon his many UK and US based inspirations,
listening to TIAM provokes a feeling of true UK-bred
innovation and artistic risk-taking.
