About Our Dermal Fillers For Lips

1

What Are They?

Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid is a gel that's made of the same substance that's found naturally inside the body. It not only fills out lips and other areas but attracts water to the area to keep it supple. Hyaluronic acid also helps to get nutrients into the skin from the bloodstream.

Collagen

Another of the dermal fillers for lips is collagen. Collagen is a flexible, supportive material that keeps the skin supple. Collagen can be derived from bovine, porcine and human sources. Clients who want collagen from bovine or porcine sources will need to get a test to make sure they're not allergic to it. In some cases, collagen can be taken from the client and injected into the lips. Collagen is easy to harvest if the client's already had abdominoplasty or another operation where some skin needed to be removed. The client's collagen is extracted from the skin, sterilized then injected into the lips.

Calcium Hydroxylapatite

Another filler is calcium hydroxylapatite. Calcium hydroxylapatite is excellent for plumping out thin lips because it's heavier than any other dermal filler. It uses tiny spheres based on calcium in a gel. This provides a scaffold for the client's own collagen to latch on to and grow. Calcium hydroxylapatite is a biosynthetic, which means that it's not derived from animals or the products of animals. This means that there's much less risk of the client being allergic to it.

Polylactic Acid

Polylactic acid is another synthetic filler that stimulates the client's body to produce its own collagen. The one drawback is it doesn't produce results right away as it takes time for the collagen to be produced by the body. It may take about a month or so to see results. But polylactic acid is also an excellent for adding volume to lips.
