Action Figures: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow

There is more to life than just graduating from childhood and entering the adult world. There are people who are still in awe when it comes to what used to be the role model of their childhood.

Action figures are popular among boys because they exude and signify established manly traits that have been their childhood foundation. At this point in time, it is not only a showcase as a toy but as a collector item as well. Action figures have made a statement making it a status symbol for boys from the upper class.

One of the most famous characters relived by action figures is Superman. He is a very famous comic story that has caught the eyes of billons of fans transversing over time and space. He is tagged as the man of steel and is regarded as the American Symbol. The character emerged in the early 1930’s and was created by Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel. Superman’s costume is iconic and colorful for it exudes a unique and extraordinary aura which catches the eyes of his fans.
Next in line is Batman. Created by Bill Finger and Bob Kane, this comic book character first appeared in the late 1930’s. He is more commonly known as the Caped Crusader, Dark Knight or the Bat. Unlike Superman, Batman depicts a more realistic story for not having superpowers and only using intellect and technology to fight crimes and save people. Also, Batman comes with his famous Bat Mobile and sidekick who is Robin.

Another famous superhero known worldwide is Spiderman. The character first came into life through Marvel Comics and is known as your friendly neighborhood superhero. Stan Lee and Steve Ditko have made millions through royalty for being creating one of the most adored characters in the early 1980’s. Spiderman has reached the top grosser for apparels as well as action figures.
Probably the most complicated of the group, and the most modern are the Transformers. This is a cartoon series depicting a battle between robots which could change its nature into objects, animals or vehicles. The 1980’s was the era where these gigantic robots came into life and has made millions for their action figures as well.

True enough, action figures has helped sustain the popularity of these characters. Action figures have put cartoons and comics in a new level by making it come to life and within the reach of people. Collectors and other aficionados treat these action figures as a symbol which signifies eternity and continuity of each and every character, making it as a way of commemorating and reliving the adventures and misadventures of their favorite hero. We cannot deny the fact that with the emergence of these super heroes and cartoon characters as action figures will surely live not only today but also tomorrow and the next generations of fans.
