ADHD and ADD in children and massage: research article, parents wanted!

(Free-Press-Release.com) November 5, 2009 -- Infant and kids massage instructor, Natalie Garmson, would like to hear from parents and carers of children who have ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) or ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder),who also incorporate massage into their routine.

"I have read many articles and research papers that suggest massage can assist children with ADHD and ADD; I am particularly interested in hearing real stories from carers to support this research, and to provide information and shared experiences for other parents who may not have considered the benefits of massage therapy for their ADHD or ADD child, whether they use massage as a complimentary (additional) treatment or not" she says.

Some benefits for the child include a calmer disposition and more relaxed child, an improvement in the ability to focus on tasks at hand, improved concentration in the classroom and with homework, lower hyperactivity score and overall feeling happier. These benefits were noted in two studies by the Touch Research Institute in Miami, Florida in 1998 and 2003.
