Concerned parents are mad at Hollywood because their children are being negatively influenced as a result of watching mainstream animation on TV, movies, video games and the internet. According to TGKS Records Vice President, Horace Christian, angry Moms and Dads are crying out for an animated solution to their problem. Amazed parents all over the country are noticing that their children’s behavior is changing after watching the “Dex Davis: Child of God - Episode 2” DVD (www.dexdavis.com). One Latina woman from Delaware says her son, who has ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), watched the DVD ten times straight…all while sitting still and quiet. Another father in Los Angeles said his son carries his bible to school because “…he saw Dex do it.” Negative influences such as sexual subjects, using foul language and violence are common in many of today’s top animated television shows. Christian says, “This cartoon is tearing down the negative images and influences that are so popular in mainstream animation. Dex is giving kids a positive, life-changing alternative that is actually changing their behavior and the way they think. Never has an urban-faith animated series dealt with these issues in this way.”
“Dex Davis 2” is stirring up controversy even in the Christian community because of its strong, radical Christian message and emphasis on spiritual warfare and “casting out demons”. Lamar Johnson, President of TGKS Records says, “We’re dealing with real issues that kids of all races go through everyday. Dex Davis is a great role model that’s showing children that they don’t have to give in to bad influences and get bullied by the negative attacks they face. He’s showing kids that they can be used by God at a young age and that they can have the power to overcome the negative struggles of life…by having a close, real relationship with Jesus Christ.”
Episodes 1 and 2 of the controversial gospel animated series “Dex Davis: Child of God” premiered on Pakistan’s Isaac Television network on February 25, 2011 and has been added to the network’s schedule. Isaac Television reaches more than 10 million people in four major cities of Pakistan (and in Afghanistan)…and is set to reach over 63 countries in Asia in the very near future. “This is a huge opportunity to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to millions of people” says TGKS Records Vice President, Horace Christian.
Dex Davis is NOT a Wizard! he’s NOT a Space Alien…and he’s NOT a Secret Agent! He’s just a regular 11-year old kid who lives in a regular neighborhood. There is one very special quality that makes him unique. Dex Davis is a born-again Christian! He’s saved, he’s sanctified…and he’s filled with the Holy Ghost (the Spirit of God)! Get ready because there’s a new kid on the animation block that’s standing up to the bullies…and his name is Dex Davis! See more about the “Dex Davis: Child of God - Episode 2” DVD at www.dexdavis.com.
The ‘Dex Davis: Child of God!’ gospel animated series was co-created, written and produced by Horace Christian and Lamar Johnson (TGKS Records). They have no previous experience or formal training in animation. They humbly say, “We never went to animation school or learned from professional animators. God taught us how to do all of the animation, the voices, the music, the scriptwriting, the graphic design…everything. God deserves all the credit for that.”
In 2004, Lamar Johnson and Horace Christian started TGKS Records; an independent record company based in Los Angeles that specializes in creating and producing anointed, top quality Christian media products for children. The mission of TGKS Records is to use the powerful tools of music, television, radio and animation to lift up the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and to proclaim the Word of God to make a powerful, permanent, life-changing impact on millions of children and families of all races around the world. TGKS Records is “the record label where God is able, and where children are the heart of the ministry.”
