Los Angeles Dodgers Starting Pitcher 1 Win Shy of 100

Hawthorne, NJ – May 27, 2010 – Los Angeles Dodgers Starting Pitcher and Akadema endorser, Vicente Padilla, stands just 1 win shy of 100. Currently on the 15-day Disabled List, Vicente is poised to reach the 100-win plateau upon returning to the club in early June. Padilla has reached 99 wins in his twelfth year, his ninth as a starter. The 32-year old from Chinandega, Nicaragua has the second most wins of and Nicaraguan-born pitcher, behind only Dennis Martinez. Padilla has a career line of 99-86 with an ERA of 4.36 in 309 games, 225 starts. The 2002 National League All-Star is currently 42nd in wins among active pitchers. Padilla’s team begins June with a home stand against the Arizona Diamondbacks, Atlanta Braves, St. Louis Cardinals, and Los Angeles Angels.
