ALB Tech at 1208 W Main Street in Richmond’s Fan district will be holding a celebration at 7:00PM on November 13th, 2009 to commemorate two years of helping Richmond residents resolve their computer problems. The festivities will include an art show featuring a new series by painter Hamilton Glass and music from the J3 Project. In addition, this event will signify the official unveiling of three sizeable murals on the building’s exterior, also by Hamilton Glass.
About ALB Tech
ALB Tech first opened their doors in November 2007 as a “one stop technology shop” to serve the computer needs of people in the greater Richmond area. Owner, Adam Bell, set out to provide customers with fast, reliable service including computer repair, on-site assistance and web design at a fraction of local competitor’s costs. ALB Tech is also breaking the mold of technology service shops by offering their customers free diagnostics, a process that usually costs $75 or more.
In addition to computer repair, ALB Tech is also a serious proponent of Internet usage as a means to increase patronage and revenue for local businesses, ultimately improving our community as a whole. Proprietor and lead web designer, Adam Bell believes that every business, no matter how large or small should have a website. Bell’s specialty is building fully functional; owner operated online shops for both retail locations and individuals such as visual artists, musicians, or independent merchants.
ALB tech has also played host to a number of fantastic art and music events since 2007. The store has held a total of ten shows featuring work from artists Dave Klemencic, Todd Herrington, Dave Decker, Barry Palmer, Daniel Scruggs and Hamilton Glass. Each opening has featured excellent music acts including Southside Funk, Richmond Afrobeat Movement, Crucial Elements and Highly Classified. Exhibitions typically run for several months, sometimes with multiple openings to maximize public exposure to the fantastic visual and auditory art of Richmond.
