Alberta Police Violating Canadian's Rights?
Police in Fort McMurray Alberta seem more concerned with filling quotas than ensuring law is fairly enforced and Canadian's rights are protected.

December 30, 2011 Fort McMurray, AB: Alberta Police seem to be violating Canadian basic rights to such things as a presumption of innocence.
This according to Jim Priebe, whose car was seized by a constable with badge #1695.
Priebe alleged the constable had his car impounded after he (Priebe) failed to produce a valid insurance certificate. Priebe, however, says, he provided 3 different ways for the constable to verify the information and use his discretion to simply issue a ticket, rather than have the car impounded. This included bringing his wife on the phone - after rousing her from sleep - to provide the officer with the necessary information.
Priebe said that his car will be impounded for 4 days and that he's not sure how he will get to work. "The towing company told me they're a government agency and don't have to work again until January 3".
Priebe's biggest concern is that this officer, who, abusing his discretion in a simple traffic matter, also carries a gun. "Police officer's are entrusted with the law" said Priebe "and that a man like this should be able to so abuse such trust and be armed is abhorrent to Canadian values".
Priebe also suggested that the officer's actions may have been influenced by his need to fulfill quotas. "Is our justice system driven by quotas, or by concern by citizen welfare" mused Priebe.
