Alex and Ashley Hall, Local Judo Siblings Take Gold and Silver Respectively in Poland.

Merrick, New York, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) June 21, 2011 -- New York, June 21, 2011 Tactical Pr: Alex Hall who is 12 and his sister Ashley age 11 are fairly new to this fighting sport and are gaining notable achievement. Under the tutelage of Billy Martin of Long Island Sport Judo, who has been coaching the brother sister duo in the art and sport of Judo for the past year and a half. They have had astounding results.

According to their proud father Michael “They started about 3 years ago with kickboxing tried Judo as an adjunct and fell in love with the sport. Over the last year they have medaled in almost every tournament that they have competed in.”

They have competed in some 50 tournaments in the last 2 years taking place around the North East of the United States.

Back on March 12th and 13th Alex and Ashley Hall both competed in Canada’s Montreal Cup and became the first 2 Americans to ever medal at that event. Alex placed first and his sister Ashley placed second silver in her division. This was their first international event.

On May 22nd 2011 while competing in The NYS Judo Junior Olympics held at Polytechnic University both Alex and Ashley took gold medals at that event.

At the junior level the coaches select their teams, for most international events. They were asked by USA Judo coach Robert Proska, who was running this trip, to represent the United States at the Jaslo Open Judo Championship held in Jaslo Poland.

On May 28th 2011 while at Jaslo, Alex Hall took Gold in the boys under 15 years old, up to 46 kg division and he also took Sliver in the under 15 up to 50 kg division.

Ashley brought home 2 silver medals, in her divisions; girls under 13 up to 42 kg. and under 13 up to 46 kg.

Having won these medals has opened the door for them to compete in other international judo competitions. Winning these events has put Alex and Ashley on the map with USA Judo and they are now two sought after participants.

Alex’s aspiration is to compete in the 2024 Olympics representing team USA and it seems he is well on his way.
