Alex East brings Rock and Roll to Global Radio 1

Californian based but, Bucks Born Alex East has signed with Premier Online Radio Station Global Radio 1. East will bring his ‘ Its Only Rock and Roll’ Shows to a Global audience at 2000 GMT during the week (8pm) and 1400 GMT (2PM) at the weekends.

East is original from High Wycombe, Bucks in the UK and began his career at Wycombe Hospital radio before plying his trade in UK, Spanish and US Local radio Stations. He is the author of an authorative guide to Rock n Roll, the aptly name ‘The Encyclopaedia of Rock n Roll’ and brings his love of the music, his obvious in-depth knowledge of the genre and experienced broadcasting to the air.

Each 60-minute show is themed and includes pieces of the cultural history of the era from which the music came.

Fellow Global Radio 1 Presenter, Richard J Hannah who follows East’s weekend shows is delighted to have Alex onboard.

Global Radio 1 starts its 2nd year as an independent online Radio Station with a new web site an international presentation of 20 broadcasting to 35 countries. The Online Radio station has had over 1.7m visitors since its relaunch as an independent station in 2009 under R & G Media Group, part of an offshore venture capital portfolio.

In March a far East Investment Group approached Global Radio 1 with a view to buying the station to become part of a network established in China and the far East. The Station responded by deciding to remain independent having a clear out of some of the older shows and signing up established DJs from the net as well as established BBC Broadcasters. Alex East is the fourth new presenter to join the Station in as many months.
