Alex, from Gateshead has had vivid pink hair for a number of years and after being made redundant from her previous job within the marketing team of an IT company, she decided to use her distinctive pink trade mark to her advantage.

The result was her own new business, Pink Label Marketing which offers graphic design, PR, photography and copy writing services. Already business is good with a number of clients taking advantage of her skill in writing brochures and websites.
Alex had her hair dyed pink in 2004 and she has become a noticeable figure in the networking and social media circuit around the north east.
“My hair is my brand and it makes sense to tie in my new business name with it, “she said. “ Marketing isn’t just about advertising, it’s about creating a brand, something that is recognisable and associated positively with your business.”

Brought up in Springwell Village, the former Lord Lawson of Beamish student believes that adding her own personality into her work gives her clients a much better service and imaginative, eye catching promotion.
As well as highlighting her pink hair as a marketing tool, Alex has pulled out an ace with another unique idea. Her business cards are actually custom made playing cards which cleverly contain her contact details on the reverse of the deck.
“I love using my creativity in a positive way for my clients and everyone who has trusted me so far to look after their marketing has been tickled pink,” she said.
