Allan Cohen Treasurer of the Dysautonomia Foundation

(Free-Press-Release.com) August 4, 2009 -- Allan Cohen (190 Vandelinda Avenue Teaneck NJ) plays an important role in the Dysautonomia Foundation as he is the treasurer for this foundation and handles its finances. This Foundation was founded shortly after FD was first identified in the US. It was established in 1951 and has been helping the people who are suffering with FD throughout the world.

Familial Dysautonomia (FD) is a rare genetic disease that affects the autonomic and sensory nervous systems of children from birth. There are various symptoms of FD, some of which are reduction in sensitivity to pain and temperature. The people who have FD also have the inability to produce tears. The Foundation is conducting various reserach and public awareness programs to help the FD community and also the people who may be at risk of this disease.
