Allen Associates Welcomes Gerald Cowan As Senior Health Benefits Consultant

Most recently, Cowan served as Director, Major Accounts Markets for Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey.

“Cowan has an excellent understanding of the carrier and consulting side of the health care industry, and that makes him invaluable to Allen Associates,” said Rich Allen, President of Allen Associates. “In addition to working with Blue Cross in New Jersey, Cowan spent time with Humana in Louisville, and Anthem Blue Cross in Connecticut.”

Cowan’s deep experience in the health care industry provides Allen Associates clients with an excellent resource. He has a solid understanding of large account management and improving member satisfaction that will benefit many of Allen Associates’ public sector clients.

Cowan’s experience includes: managing national accounts and consultant relations for large-group businesses for Humana; managing sales, underwriting and member services for all local and national businesses for Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of Connecticut; and servicing 21 of Cigna’s largest customers, representing about $1.9 billion in coverage.

Cowan is a graduate of William Paterson University, and earned a master’s degree from the University of Missouri.
