Sao Paulo, Brazil – Allison Transmission, the premier global supplier of commercial duty fully automatic transmissions and hybrid propulsion systems, has reached the important milestone of fitting 10,000 transmissions to city buses in the capital of Argentina. Buenos Aires – which has one of the most modern public transportation fleets in Latin America – requires the use of automatic transmissions in all city buses due to safety, ease of operation, reliability and efficiency benefits. Equipping its buses with Allison transmissions allows safe, smooth and reliable passenger transportation every day.

“Maintenance stops to replace driveline parts and easy operation also contribute to substantial savings for fleet owners, offering higher uptime and decreasing the waiting time during city duty cycles,” says Roberto Larossa, Allison Transmission Regional Manager in Argentina.

“Productivity remains essential in the region,” adds Allison’s Latin American Regional Director, Evaldo Oliveira.

Allison Transmission’s Latin American operations have secured releases in several vehicle models operating in Argentina. Examples include Agrale’s MT 12.0 with Allison’s 2100 series and MT 15.0 with Allison’s T270, Materfer’s BU1210 with T270, Mercedes-Benz OH 1115/1315 with 2100 and the new OH1618 with the T270.
