Alpine Cleaning & Restoration marks 20th anniversary with benefit lunch for young leukemia victim

(Free-Press-Release.com) September 23, 2009 -- LOGAN, Utah — For its 20th anniversary Alpine Cleaning & Restoration is holding a benefit lunch fundraiser on Sept. 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 177 S. Main in Smithfield for Taylie Abbott, a four-year-old girl from Richmond recently diagnosed with leukemia.

Over the years, Alpine Cleaning & Restoration has held an annual lunch for friends and family, but on the 20th anniversary they have decided to make it free and open to the public. Zane Bagley, the general manager of Alpine's Smithfield location, is friends with the Abbott family and thought the free lunch could be used as a good fundraiser to help cover some medical expenses.

Bart Caley, director of operations and marketing, said the free anniversary lunch will consist of hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, chips and soda. While there is no minimum donation, Caley said he hopes people will be generous since all proceeds go to Taylie and her family.

Alpine Cleaning & Restoration Specialists, Inc. started out in 1989 when owner Chris Harris invested in some carpet cleaning equipment as a way to earn some extra money.
