Many rallies on Capital Hill end in arguments and frustration more then they ever end in any real change. Voice for Hope was determined that wouldn’t happen this year now or ever. There aim is offer their services to Congress to support them in their busy job not confront them with what they are doing wrong.
There mission statement is below:
To advance the wellbeing of humanity by ensuring that alternative and integrative health and wellness services and products have meaningful participation in the development of public policy, through educating policy makers and the general public and promoting the rights of individual consumers and their families to choose what is best for their own needs.
The More Health Less Care Alliance is on board with this.
“This is a mission statement I could get really behind” Says Dr. Peter J. Weiss President of the More Health Less Care (http://mhlca.com), “Because we are built on the principles of promotion of Alternative Care Providers to the public...”
“Which is why I just had to attend, I haven’t done much of this before and I found it to be a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Our message was one of support. Essentially we were saying, “Mr. Congressperson, how can we help you?”.”
With Voice for HOPE (http://www.voiceforhope.org) taking the position that it wants to be a resource to Congress. There ended up being absolutely no arguing and no partisanship; just assistance.
In general, the meetings engendered great interest from all the Congressional staff members that they met with. All told, the participants met with the health staff for 22 House Members and 4 Senators.
Dr. Pete handed out many copies of “More Health Less Care” (http://mhlca.com/book.jsp) and offered health coaching to all who would like to take him up on it. He hopes they find the message valuable personally and professionally, and he looks forward to connecting soon with my own Florida members of Congress — Representative Bill Posey and Senators Bill Nelson and Marco Rubio.
Voice For Hope plans to hold these events annually. With the goal of meeting bringing together people from every area of the United States and being able to meet with every single Senator and Representative each time.
