Alternative Energy Company Windy Nation Develops Durable and Affordable Small Wind Generator

(Free-Press-Release.com) February 12, 2010 -- In early 2009 Windy Nation began selling a three phase radial flux 500 Watt wind turbine generator using powerful neodymium rare earth permanent magnets. Coming in late February 2010, Windy Nation Inc's upgraded and improved version of their industry leading 500 Watt permanent magnet alternator (PMA), will be available for purchase from their web site for 259 dollars.

At the end of this month, Windy Nation will begin to offer its original 500 Watt wind turbine with several upgraded features. The PMA's housing, which supports and protects the copper windings and neodymium magnets inside the generator, will be manufactured from stainless steel and a highly rust-resistant aluminum alloy. These two upgrades will aid in corrosion prevention, reduce the weight of the PMA, and drastically increase its service life. Wind turbine alternators spend their entire service life exposed to outdoor conditions (i.e. rain and marine environments) and by constructing the entire shell or housing of the PMA from highly rust resistant metal alloys, the exterior of the PMA will be not suffer from premature failure by corrosion related metal failure. Additionally, the PMA's bearings, which allow the permanent magents to rotate inside the housing, will make use of a completely sealed "weather proof" design. This will eliminate the possibility of water or dust entering the bearings. The end result is an ultra-durable and reliable wind turbine generator.

Windy Nation's president of Research and Development, Albert Antelman, believes that these new features will "position Windy Nation's PMA to be the leading alternator in the small wind market." Additionally, he added that Windy Nation will be selling a 1000 Watt version of this alternator in late 2011.
