FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) September 27, 2011 --

Colorado Springs, CO – September 20, 2011 – On Thursday, October 13, Steve Tengler, Altia’s User Experience Director, will be speaking at IUE2011, the Internet User Experience Conference, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. IUE2011 spotlights effective and compelling designs for web and mobile sites and applications, and teaches methods for dramatically improving today's user experience. With his presentation, “The Evolving User Interface,” Steve will extend the conversation beyond the traditional web and mobile space to its newest connected platforms – embedded displays in automotive and consumer products.

“To project the user experiences of the future, we must understand the various influences upon the ever-evolving Human-Machine Interface (HMI). The HMI of yesteryear -- basic operation and simple styling -- has given way to customizable experiences and increasingly complex functionality, delivered intuitively. How do you plan for the user experience of tomorrow when you're still perfecting the user experience of right now? In his presentation, Steve will discuss HMI trends from the past, present and future and share his methods for assuring your company and customers the best possible success both now and for generations to come.”

As a proven expert in the field of Human-Machine Interface design and deployment with over 20 years of experience on some of the country's top automotive teams, Steve will lend an informed and practiced perspective to the conference discussion. Before assuming his role as User Experience Director at Altia, he managed the global HMI development team at OnStar - GM's award-winning driver assistance system. His team pioneered innovative services like OnStar eNav and Injury Severity Predictor. In the past two decades, Steve has also put his expertise to work at Nissan, Ford, and Visteon. Steve is a member of the Human Factors & Ergonomics Society (HFES) and is Co-Chair of the Driver-Vehicle Interface Task Force within the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). To date, over 90 patent applications feature his work. Steve has a Masters in Industrial Engineering focusing on Human Factors and Ergonomics from the University of Michigan.
The IUE2011 Conference will take place from October 10-13, 2011 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. For more information about IUE2011, visit the conference website at http://www.iue2011.com/
