Alvin Restaurant Group Hosts First Annual New Year’s Eve Block Party

Houston, Texas, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) December 9, 2011 -- Alvin, TX – Who needs New York’s Times Square when the hottest New Year’s Eve ticket is in Alvin, Texas! Say bye-bye to 2011 and hello to 2012 with the Alvin Restaurant Group’s first annual New Year’s Eve Block Party, introducing its newest venues – Gordon Street Tavern, Il ManzoRosso, Schaap Meat Market, Norma’s Cakes & Cookies and Crust-Co Artisan Bakery - along with their award-winning Barbed Rose Steakhouse & Seafood Co.

“2011 has been a banner year for The Alvin Restaurant Group,” says owner Joe Schneider. “We wouldn’t be here without the support of our friends and neighbors and couldn’t think of a better way to ring in the New Year.”

At 4 pm, festivities begin as North Gordon Street comes alive with a ribbon cutting at the group’s newest eatery, Gordon Street Tavern. The restaurant, complete with thirty beers on tap (and many more in bottles), 10 big screen TVs and a pub menu created by Barbed Rose Chef Jason Chaney, will open for business immediately following the ceremony.

Next door at The Barbed Rose, it will be business as usual from 5-9 pm, with an a la carte menu and New Year’s Eve specials.

At 6 pm, be among the first to enjoy a sneak peek of the group’s forthcoming Italian restaurant Il ManzoRosso, “The Red Steer,” located at 100 North Gordon (on the corner of North Gordon and Sealy St), where the restaurant will reside after renovations. Italian cuisine and wine at its best, dinner will begin with hors d’oeuvres, followed by a five-course dinner featuring antipasti, pici pasta, sea bass, wild boar, and panna cotta. Tickets are $130 pre-sale ($145 at the door) per person and includes all after-dinner New Year’s Eve entertainment, along with the midnight champagne toast and breakfast buffet.

Then, beginning at 9 pm, party like a rock star when a $50 entry fee ($60 at the door) provides access to three local bands, along with a New Year’s Eve champagne toast and midnight buffet. Pier Pressure will groove at Il ManzoRosso, Junior Gordon will rock the house at Gordon Street Tavern, and James Reese and his band will liven things up in the Burger Bar.
