Amazon's Kindle Marketplace – Spam vs. PLR

June 17, 2011 Web sites / Internet news in Alabama,Alabama, United States of America

Several recent news reports have stated that Kindle is being overrun by spam but allegedly these reports seem to have failed in the fact checking step in what used to be standard procedure for reports

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Alabama, Alabama, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) June 17, 2011 -- Birmingham, AL, June 17, 2011 – Amazon's Kindle Marketplace has made it easy for would-be authors to publish their works and start establishing a name for themselves. Unfortunately, that ease has given rise to a flood of so-called “spammy” ebooks – or at least, that's what some recent reports would have you believe. Recent news stories put out by such well-known online media outlets as Tech Eye, Good eReader, LA Times and ZD Net all specified a product called “Autopilot Kindle Cash” as being a part of the problem.

These news stories clearly all referenced the same source material for their articles since they all quote the very same misinformation about Autopilot Kindle Cash. Each one refers to the product as “a DVD box set” - however, the product is digitally delivered and always has been. Since the creator, Mike Carraway, teaches a method of using private label rights material in order to create an ebook and publish it on Kindle, the reporters have all painted him and his product with a very broad brush – calling what he teaches spam.
Perhaps the authors of those reports are unfamiliar with the term “private label rights” and the proper way to use such material but one would assume that some research would have been in order prior to defaming a reputable author and marketer. Private label rights is a form of licensing where the original creator foregoes exclusive copyright and allows others to use the material under their own name. This is in no way akin to intellectual property piracy, as at least one report inferred.

“When someone writes their own book but doesn't want to go through all the hassles of publishing it, they can sell the rights to it and allow someone else to publish it under their name. This is called giving the buyer "Private Label Rights" and allows the buyer to put their own name as the author, change the title, or anything else they want to do to it. In fact, even past Presidents of the United states hire ghostwriters to write books for them, pay the ghostwriter for the rights to the book, and then publish the book as if it's their own - in essence, another form of private label rights,” says Carraway, author and creator of Autopilot Kindle Cash.
Carraway states that not one of the reporters mentioning Autopilot Kindle Cash has contacted him nor have any of them actually purchased the product in question in order to see what it actually teaches. Instead, they apparently relied on a third-party source that clearly had not reviewed the course either. Carraway says he'd be happy to give each of the reports in question a copy of the product, should they ask, so that they can actually review the course themselves. In the meantime, he is in discussion with his attorney about the best way to handle this situation.
