AMERICA CELEBRATES, SUDAN DECLARES INDEPENDENCE

That act of treason, then, by the founding fathers paved the way for what today is the greatest power on earth, the United States of America.
235 years and 5 days later a similar declaration of independence will be made thousands of miles away in the continent of Africa.

Indeed after more than two and half decades of war, drought and famine, on 9th of July 2011 Southern Sudan will declare independence from the greater Sudan dominated by the Arabic North and will officially become the Republic of South Sudan. This is a momentous occasion for the South Sudanese and their friends, who include many African countries like Kenya as well as the United States of America, that have worked tirelessly to secure peace and freedom for the people of South Sudan from an overbearing Northern Sudan.
