February 26, 2012

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) February 26, 2012 -- While the federal government has tried to jump start the US economy with a variety of incentives, stimuli, and tax breaks, American Distributors Inc. (ADI), an electronics manufacturing and distribution facility based in Randolph, NJ, has announced it is expanding its global production capability yet again, this time with a new manufacturing facility in Bangalore, the “Silicon Valley” of India, without relying upon government intervention, said ADI President, David Beck.

According to the Department of Commerce, 90 percent of American subsidiaries’ sales are in foreign markets. This statistic shows that the vast majority of companies are not moving manufacturing overseas only to sell goods back to the United States at a savings, but rather to cater to their customers. Years ago, ADI had already established a sales office in India, a critical location to a growing customer base in Asia. “Our new India facility offers our customers a low cost country (LCC) option. This location enhances our capability to offer SMT (surface mount) & THT (through-hole) technologies, ICT (in-circuit testing), AOI (automated optical inspection), conformal coating, Pb- and Pb-free,” remarked Beck.

In a study of the hi-tech city performed by Wiley Periodicals Inc., “Bangalore-based firms adopted a strategy [over a decade ago] of moving up the value chain in serving their customers. Firms have gone beyond Y2K and data-entry jobs to application development, infrastructure development, and database management.” ADI’s line of electronic components and assemblies can take advantage of a unique aggregation of talent, experience, technology, resources, and work ethic in Bangalore.

ADI has been carefully planning for its future throughout its almost 30 year history, while maintaining a strong commitment to quality-control for its OEM customer base. This commitment extends beyond a regulatory and compliance mandate because it is customer service driven. When there are fewer mistakes and shortages, the integrity of the manufacturing and assembly infrastructure remains intact. Moreover, the enterprise can run more smoothly and team member morale remains high. This leads to better worker productivity and enthusiasm, for which there is no substitute.

To reinforce its on-going commitment to integrating quality management systems in all aspects of its business, ADI became the first electronic component distributor in the US to receive AS 9120 certification in January, 2005. It is one of only a handful of companies that has dual certification for both manufacturing (AS9100) and distribution (AS9120). ADI excels at manufacturing low volume/high reliability assemblies in its three facilities in India, Oklahoma, and New Jersey. Its certified QMS allows it to minimize defects and maximize productivity. In addition, ADI has consistently experienced a very low incidence of defects which is "virtual defect-free performance," according to the standards issued by the American Society for Quality. Global supply chain management was designed to take waste out of supply chains including excess inventory, time and cost. ADI’s new Bangalore factory will enhance its delivery time and support to customers in that part of the globe.

ADI (http://adi.us.com) is a single-source provider of manufacturing services for the high-technology electronics industry, and an ISO-9002/AS9120 distributor of electronic and electromechanical components and assemblies. ADI's global network of suppliers and military-approved assembly facilities as well as its bonded warehouse,(CAGE code OBR80), have earned it "preferred supplier" status among leading OEMs in the aerospace industry.
