Ameristar Casino Hotel East Chicago Introduces Ashley Archer as Executive Chef

East Chicago, IN — Ameristar Casino Hotel East Chicago, renowned for its premier gaming and culinary excellence, introduces Ashley Archer as its new Executive Chef. Chef Ashley Archer brings bold new flavors, skills, and personality to the East Chicago dining outlets located within the property.

Prior to joining the Ameristar Casino Hotel East Chicago, Chef Archer served as Assistant Executive Chef for Ameristar’s Kansas City property beginning in 2005, before serving most recently as Executive Chef at Ameristar Vicksburg.

In his new role, Chef Archer will oversee all of the East Chicago dining outlets at the Ameristar Casino Hotel East Chicago including the Heritage Buffet, the Double Down Diner, Amerisports and the Waterfront Grill. In addition to these duties, Chef Archer will also lead the East Chicago dining experiences for guests visiting the property’s exclusive Star Club and Lounge amenities.

“I love seeing how food changes from place to place and how each region has its own core ingredients to work with. I like to bring those ingredients and pair them with my Southern roots to create fun and exciting dishes,” said Archer.

Having amassed an extensive culinary background, Chef Ashley Archer brings a passion for Southern cuisine blended with influences from his travels to the Pacific Northwest, Hawaii, Arizona and Miami to the East Chicago dining options on property.

In his accomplished career, Chef Ashley was awarded the Mobil Four Diamond Award at the Westin Salishan Dining Room at Gleneden Beach, Oregon. He also carries an impressive background as Executive Chef at the Westin Philadelphia, as well as the Executive Sous Chef at the Sheraton Overland Park, the Westin Shalishan and the Sheraton Birmingham.

With a style characterized as under control, vocal, focused and fun, Chef Ashley is happy to immerse himself in these East Chicago dining outlets. He brings unique skills and personality to Ameristar East Chicago Casino Hotel.
