FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) October 15, 2009 --
As part of its collaborative training programme with The Institute of Operations Management (IOM), an executive arm of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) and the professional organisation for operational management professionals, Amnis - the specialist healthcare quality, innovation and productivity improvement enabler – has just concluded an Accelerated Lean Skills Programme for Institute members.
According to Amnis’ managing director, Mark Eaton: “The partnership between Amnis and the IOM works very well as it enables us to bring our high quality training and support to a much wider audience and, at the same time, adds real value to IOM members as well as raising the profile of the institute and its excellent work.”
“Indeed, the recent course produced some excellent feedback,” he added.
Debbie Pye, a project manager at Asda and a delegate on the Accelerated Lean Skills Programme, commented: “I enjoyed the workshops, which had a good mix of theory and practical examples. There was a relaxed atmosphere, friendly approach and really good coaching.”
Her colleague, Alicia Dermott, general manager of distribution for Asda, added: “It was highly interactive. The quizzes were a powerful way of learning.
“The programme had good pace, great content - and I really enjoyed the simulation exercises.”
Mike Hill, head of trading standards at Essex County Council, said: “This was an all-round excellent theoretical and practical course. It has given me real confidence in leading colleagues through a structured approach to continuous improvement.”
“This course was a useful and informative introduction to Lean skills - and has provided me with ideas and a means to put them into practice,” stated Laura Castell, a network manager with Shell
This is the fifth year that Amnis and the IOM have collaborated to deliver a high quality training programme and, to date, this has benefited many hundreds of members and non-institute members of the IOM.
In addition, in February and April next year, Amnis will be running a similar Accelerated Lean Skills Programme in collaboration with the NHS Training Bulletin (on 2nd-4th February and 13th-15th April).
