AMPEGY GIVES BACK TO LOCAL FOOD BANKS

(Free-Press-Release.com) November 4, 2011 -- – During the month of November, Ampegy will be donating one can of food for every Twitter “Follower” it acquires.

The food insecurity rate in America is on the rise, and it’s especially difficult for families around the holidays. Ampegy wanted a way to bring the message of relieving hunger in America to as many people as possible, so it got a little creative.

“We wanted a huge microphone to shout the message of taking action on hunger in America and we thought what better than the megaphone that is Twitter, says Cheri Davies, Director of Marketing at Ampegy. “We already had an audience on Twitter so it made sense for us to use that as a channel for running our virtual food drive and being able to make a large donation of canned food to the local food banks we chose.”

From November 1 until November 20, Ampegy will donate one can of food for every “Follow” it gets on its @Ampegy Twitter account. One can of food per person will also be donated for all the Twitter Followers Ampegy already has.

“We hope running this food drive on Twitter will bring awareness to the importance of giving back and helping others whenever and wherever possible,” Davies says. “At Ampegy, community is important to us, and we do everything we can to support the communities we serve.”

Ampegy recently launched The Ampegy Community™, a program that gives back to the community by allowing citizens to apply for support grants for various causes, including education, events and eco-friendly initiatives.
