An American Promise to Hold Protest

December 9, 2011 Other news in Fort Worth,Texas, United States of America

An American Promise announced today it will be rallying at the VA Regional Office in Waco, Texas.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Fort Worth, Texas, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) December 9, 2011 -- An American Promise, Inc. is committed to making changes in the manner in which the Department of Veterans Affairs oversees the management of its programs. The last VA Office of the Inspector General audit on April 16, 2010 at the VA Regional Office in Waco had some alarming criticism on the poor management in the processing of, not only veterans’ disability claims, but benefit claims related to family members.

According to the US Census - 2008 there were 1,603.981 living in Texas. It ranked third in terms of the number of Veterans living in Texas, second only to California and Florida. In 2004, Texas Veterans represented only 12.4% (208,986) of those receiving disability compensation payments.

The waste and abuse of personnel resources by management in its inability to correct itself is having devastating effects on the veterans waiting for their claims to be processed. The long wait and the inaccuracies in claims processing is creating serious correlation in homelessness and suicide among returning veterans and those frustrated with the VA. However, the problem does not end here as Vietnam Combat veterans are succumbing to residuals of Agent Orange, which is exacerbating their health conditions.

The Secretary and Congress have been ineffective in resolving the problems associated with poor performance within most of the VA program management and its wasteful spending in the redundancy of claims processing. The American people expect more than the pacification of allowing an ineffective system to oversee it.

On 14 December, 2011 An American Promise, Inc. and supporters will be rallying at the VA Regional Office in Waco, Texas to bring national attention to the disgraceful display of patriotism to our American Veterans and those being served by the Department of Veterans Affairs. Please come and support a veterans’ movement. It is long overdue.
